Social Impact Partner - MOFAD
The Museum of Food and Drink brings the world of food and drink to life with exhibits you can taste, touch, and smell. A premier food museum and a global educational resource that inspires generations of curious eaters of all ages and backgrounds.
As the most universal aspect of human existence, food is a powerful lens for understanding ourselves, each other, and the world around us. MOFAD is a new kind of museum that uses this power to create cultural change towards a more thoughtful, equitable, and delicious future.
Flavor is a sensory journey through our bodies and our world, designed and curated by food scientists and culinary anthropologists. Unpack what really happens in our heads when we experience the flavors of food, discover the ways flavor companies engineer and design the flavors that we eat almost every day, and learn what natural and artificial flavoring really mean. With millions around the world losing their senses of smell and taste due to COVID-19, Flavor is a timely look at the sensory experience that makes us love food and drink!
Exhibition highlights include: your very own flavor packet for use throughout the exhibition, multiple flavor tasting stations, MOFAD’s Smell Synthesizer machine, and the EEG Brainwave Bloom!
What does Social Impact mean to us?
On your tour you will hear the term “social impact”, but what does that really mean? For us, social impact is making sure that we have a positive impact on the communities we live and work in, as well as the amazing places we explore with our tours. We believe that truly experiencing a place “like a local” means having meaningful engagement that supports local, community-based organizations and learning about their causes and the people making them happen. Just as we carefully select the places you’ll visit and the food you’ll try, we have also carefully selected our social impact partners to showcase the amazing work being done in our communities. Your patronage on our tours is a small act to help these initiatives flourish. We want to help our visitors explore NYC on an authentic level and make sure that we are all having a positive impact while doing it.
