New York City just got a whole lot pinker. We are thrilled to announce the launch of Mr. Pink, a whimsical and massive public art installation by renowned artist Philippe Katerine, invading the iconic streets of Flatiron and NoMad.
Presented by the Flatiron NoMad Partnership, this “Winter Glow” program transforms the neighborhood into a vibrant outdoor gallery. To celebrate, Like A Local Tours is leading exclusive walking tours to help you discover all nine “Mr. Pink” locations while diving deep into the rich history of these historic districts. We are honored to be a part of this exciting endeavor and we hope to see you on tour!

The Tour Experience
Our journey begins at the North Public Plaza, at the Northwest corner of East 23rd and Broadway (across from Flatiron Building). This area, which sees over 18 million visitors annually, has been transformed from a busy roadway into a “people-first” town square.
As we weave through the district, you’ll discover the “Le Mignonisme” sculpture series while learning about:
- The Flatiron Building: Learn the history of this 285-foot-tall steel-framed triangular building, opened in 1902.
- The Historic Toy Center: How 200 Fifth Avenue evolved from a 19th-century farmhouse to the hub of the American toy industry.
- The Commodore Criterion Building: A landmark of imagination once known as the “Gilbert Hall of Science.”
- The NoMad Piazza: A success story of reclaiming Broadway for pedestrians, dining, and art.
- The “Little Church Around the Corner”: A historic haven for actors and a landmark of social justice.
