NYC Is Re-Opening, and So Are We!
As the calendar turns to June and summer gets underway, New York City is roaring back to life after a year of quarantine.
Broadway is set to re-open at full capacity in September. Yankee Stadium and Citi Field are admitting fans back into the stands. And tourism – New York’s #1 industry, is revving back up as well. We at Like a Local Tours are excited as anyone to put the pandemic behind us and get back in action, and we’re doing just that this month!

Our Flatiron Food, History & Architecture Tour takes you through one of Manhattan’s most historic neighborhoods complete with a traveling lunch including offerings from Eataly, Zucker’s Bagels, Beecher’s Cheese Shop, and Bread’s Bakery. Along the way, stop for photo ops and learn the rich history of local attractionslike the Flatiron building, Madison and Union Squares, and the Teddy Roosevelt home!
A few blocks west, we offer the Chelsea Market & High Line Food & History Tour. Chelsea Market is one of the most popular culinary destinations in the city, occupying the bottom two floors of the historic Nabisco factory building on 9th Ave in the heart of the trendy Meatpacking District. You’ll taste the best of what the market has to offer, and then you’ll embark on a journey across the High Line, a one-of-a-kind above ground pedestrian park converted in the early 21st century from an out-of-use railway overpass. You’ll end the tour at Hudson Yards, Manhattan’s newest neighborhood that’s quickly become one of the west side’s most popular destinations!
You can also cross the East River into Brooklyn and take our famous Williamsburg Bites Tour, which walks you through the ever-increasingly popular Williamsburg neighborhood, where you’ll see the sights and learn the rich history of one of NYC’s most desirable residential areas. You’ll stop along the way for an eclectic selection of the best food the neighborhood has to offer, including authentic Polish pierogies at Northside Bakery, the “Best Pizza” in Brooklyn, and a look inside a working chocolate factory at KahKow!
In addition to these public offerings, a variety of private and corporate group tours are also available. We’re thrilled to be back in action, and we hope you’ll join us this summer!
