September was a whirlwind of NYC tours that redefined your stereotypical corporate event. From volunteer days focused on sustainability to decadent culinary strolls, our guides led thousands of steps, creating unforgettable local experiences. This month showcased the best of our customized group tours, proving that an authentic, food-centric tour is the perfect way to connect large groups, executives, or community members.
Redefining Team Building: Governors Island Volunteer Day
We shattered the mold of typical office icebreakers with the New York Public Library’s IT Team, proving that meaningful connection happens when you step outside the boardroom and get your hands dirty…literally.
The day began early with 40 guests aboard the ferry, immediately treated to stunning Manhattan skyline views. For many, this first-time visit to the historic Governors Island created a shared sense of adventure.
Expert guides led the team to Earth Matter NY, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainability. The IT team eagerly embraced hands-on volunteering. A major highlight was meeting the composting chickens and goats, integral to Earth Matter’s waste-to-resource cycle.
The afternoon balanced culture and cuisine: one group enjoyed tacos and churros at Taco Vista overlooking the harbor, while the other explored the contemporary Hydrofesto art exhibition at the LMCC Arts Center.

A Taste of History and Community in Red Hook, Brooklyn
We had the privilege of hosting the members of Morningside Heights Retirement and Health Services for a heartwarming day in Red Hook, Brooklyn, focused on accessibility and community.
The tour began with classic slices and garlic knots at Mark’s Red Hook Pizza. Next, the group braved the sloped walkway and boarded the historic Mary Whalen Boat, where the crew presented a powerful installation on the 9/11 maritime response, enhanced by the firsthand account of photographer Carolina Salguero.
Then, they indulged in an incredible feast of smoked brisket, ribs, mac ‘n’ cheese and more at Hometown BBQ. Dessert followed with tartlets from Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pie, enjoyed alongside stunning Statue of Liberty views.
The day concluded at the Red Hook Winery. Winemaker Christopher Nicolson led a private tasting, sharing his unique philosophy on translating “place and time” into his wines, offering a sophisticated and memorable finale.

Mid-Month Logistical Feats: Complex Group Tours
Our ability to handle high-volume, logistically complex tours was on full display in September. This month, we proved that even with large groups and complex itineraries, we never compromise on the intimate, local feel of the experience.
Seamless Manhattan and Brooklyn Coordination
Little Italy & LES Coordination: We ran a 36-guest tour through the bustling streets of the Lower East Side, Chinatown, and Little Italy. To manage flow and avoid congestion, two guides expertly wove two groups seamlessly. This route debuted our exciting new tasting stop at Essex Market, Chomps-Elysees. Here, guests enjoyed a savory and delicious bite, selecting their own soup while everyone received their own portion of the famous two-bite cornbread, all within the market’s vibrant setting.
DUMBO/Brooklyn Heights Feast: Our largest single-group tour this month was a 50-person outing led by three guides. The route covered the scenic Brooklyn Promenade and the Brooklyn Bridge. The five tastings were specifically chosen to offer something for every palate, including:
Savory mini egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with arugula and homemade tomato jam from Vineapple.
Comforting pumpkin whoopie pies at Dawns Til Dusk.
A welcome seated respite for pizza at Ignazios Pizza

Double Day!
One particular date showcased our team’s capacity: we ran two major tours simultaneously:
In Brooklyn, an Industry City tour enjoyed pastries from Colson Patisserie and a successful hands-on workshop with our valued partner, artisan William Storms.
At the same time in Manhattan, another group was deep into a decadent lunchtime tour of Greenwich Village complete with falafel, charcuterie, pizza, donuts and cookies. And walking it all off of course…

Closing the Month with Style
We finished September by highlighting two of Manhattan’s most popular modern destinations:
Influencer Showcase: A group of content creators took our Chelsea Market tour, beautifully capturing and promoting its diverse offerings. Check out how Alexis’ beautifully highlighted our tour below.
