Spoiler: you’ll leave full, happy, and armed with recs that make your friends say “wait, where was that?”
TL;DR: Booking is easy
Pick your date and tour, check out, and you’ll get instant confirmation with your meeting spot, timing, and any dietary notes.
Show up hungry. We handle the logistics at every stop, including portions and payments.
Eat, stroll, laugh, repeat for 3 hours and 1 to 2.5 miles (depending on the tour) at an easy pace.
Step 1: Choose your flavor of NYC
New York has more micro food scenes than there are subway lines, and we love introducing you to the ones locals actually frequent. Into markets and sky views with a side of history you can snack on?
Our Chelsea Market route is a fan favorite. Prefer immigrant foodways, deep neighborhood stories, and a mini world tour for your taste buds? Immigrant New York will make your group text pop off. Want iconic architecture with serious bites and minimal walking? NoMad and Flatiron keeps the steps tight and the flavors big.
Chelsea Market & High Line Food Tour:
Relaxed walk, cozy indoor tastings, and very photogenic everything. The building once housed the company that created the Oreo, so yes, you are literally walking through dessert lore. Big flavors, and maximum cinematic energy.
Immigrant New York Food Tour:
Seven tastings in roughly three hours, about two miles of easy walking, and a meeting point at Essex Market. Come hungry and curious. You will learn how waves of immigration shaped the city’s plate and you will probably leave with a new favorite NYC pizza slice or dumpling pick.
NoMad and Flatiron Food & Architecture:
About a mile of walking, big views near the Flatiron Building, and classics done right. A private group tour for just your crew to enjoy.
Pro tip: January and February tours feel extra cozy. Fewer crowds, warm interiors, and time to actually chat with your guide between bites.
Step 2: Instant confirmation and real human support
Right after you book, you’ll receive an email with everything you need. That includes start time, a clear map pin for the meeting spot, and any dietary notes you shared.
If you need to adjust your headcount, you can usually do that directly if you booked on our site. If you booked through a reseller like Tripadvisor or Viator, contact them and they will update the reservation on their side. Running late on tour day? Call us at (347) 542-7998.
You can typically join the group within the first 30 minutes, and your guide will drop you a meet-up pin.
What the tour feels like
Think neighborhood storytelling meets a progressive meal. We keep groups small so you can hear your guide, ask questions, and meet fellow food lovers without shouting. Expect 1 to 2.5 miles of walking over about 3 hours, several tasting stops, and at least one seated break so your feet can relax while your taste buds do the work.
NYC fun fact: you might pass spots where culinary history was born, markets that fed generations, or bakeries that survived more trends than your favorite podcast. Your guide will connect those dots so every bite comes with a story.
Weather, but make it delicious
New York does all four seasons like it invented them. Our tours run rain, snow, or shine, and our routes are designed with indoor tastings and smart shelter moments. If truly extreme weather makes a tour unsafe, we will contact you to reschedule. Dress for the forecast, and we will bring the comfort food.
Dietary needs: we’ve got you
We can accommodate most dietary restrictions. All tours are vegetarian friendly, and several are vegan friendly. Let us know at checkout if you avoid pork, are gluten sensitive, or have other needs. If a perfect replacement is not possible at a particular stop, we will make it up to you with an alternate bite elsewhere so you still get full value and a full belly.
Kids, strollers, and four-legged friends
Families welcome. Kids under 3 do not need a ticket unless they will be tasting. Tours are about 3 hours with real walking, so bring a stroller if that works best for your crew.
Accessibility. Our routes are wheelchair and stroller friendly in most cases. Some venues may have a small step. Message us before booking so we can steer you to the best fit for your date.
Pups. Well behaved dogs can join the walk, but they will need to wait outside food establishments. Water bowls and good vibes provided by New Yorkers who will absolutely ask to pet your dog. Dogs are not permitted on the high line, so they’ll want to sit out that particular tour.
Language options
Public tours run in English. Our team also speaks Spanish, Italian, and French. If you would like a specific language or a bilingual guide, reach out and we will set it up for a private tour whenever possible.
Cancellation and peace of mind
Plans change. For public tours, cancel 48 hours or more before your start time for a full refund. Inside 48 hours, we have already secured food and staffing.
For private and corporate outings, a 10 percent nonrefundable fee holds your date and guide. The balance is refundable up to 14 days before your event. Inside that window, we can often offer a partial credit, and we will do our best to help.
Tipping and payments at stops
Put your wallet away during the tour. Your guide handles vendor payments. Gratuities are not included, and they are always appreciated. Cash or digital both work.
Think of it as thanking the friend who knew every great place and somehow ordered perfectly. 😊
Is this just for tourists?
Nope. Locals join our tours to find new go to spots, entertain visiting friends, celebrate birthdays, and learn the stories behind places they pass every week. We hear this all the time: “I live here and still learned so much.” You also leave with a personalized list of recommendations for the rest of your stay or your next date night. Check out this quote from a local’s review:
“…As someone who’s lived in NYC for 4 years, there were many spots I didn’t even know and I learned so much!Highly recommend for truly any group for any occasion. Also love that it’s women owned!!!”

Good to know logistics that reduce stress
Group size. Small by design. Typically 4 to 14 guests. If a time slot ever has fewer than four, we may reach out to shift you. It is rare, and it keeps the group dynamic lively.
Walking pace. Easy, with frequent stops and at least one sit-down tasting. Most routes cover 1 to 2.5 miles.
Running late. Call us at (347) 542-7998 and join within the first 30 minutes. We will text a pin so you can catch up without panic.
Why Like A Local Tours
Because we combine licensed local experts with food that actually slaps, routes that support neighborhood businesses, and stories that bring the city to life, both past and present.
On most tours, your ticket covers enough food for a full lunch, so your wallet gets a break too. Our guides are 100% local, our vendors are small and mighty, and our itineraries change with the neighborhood so you get the best version of New York on that exact day.
